In attention to its social commitment towards the community and to the monthly contribution for the welfare of the Beneficencia del Carmen, old charitable organization over 100 years old, looking after more than 90 elderly people, our firm has increased the donation as a contribution to the enormous needs of this important institution. Similarly, close to June 13th day to honor St. Anthony of Padua his patron and protector, our firm contributes as usual with these festivities, this year offering a lunch for the “abuelitos” with the presence of the family Pizzolante Sabatino who wishes to ratify their commitment to the asylum and those celebrations, which Teresa Pizzolante de Sabatino (+), mother of Drs. Iván Darío and José Alfredo Sabatino Pizzolante became a promoter for decades, as president of the women association organizing these festivities.

Convinced of the value and importance of the arts in all its manifestations, and the necessary promotion and recognition of talented local artists, and linked as the members of the firm are to the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Cabello, the firm sponsored the Plastic Arts Exhibition 2010, this year dedicated to the career of artist Javier La Rosa, providing the award to third place in the contest.

With the initiative of young and talented musicians SABATINO PIZZOLANTE ABOGADOS MARITIMOS & COMERCIALES gave its support to the completion of the 1st Puerto Cabello Jazz Festival 2010 held at the local municipal theater and promoted by Prof. Lidgian Mata, with the participation of excellent groups, including the local Borburata Jazz Band.

This year a new edition of the Festival of Chamber Music of Puerto Cabello took place, our firm again was present to support and accompany these young musicians, formed mostly in the local branch of the Youth Orchestras System of Venezuela, contributing to the fostering of classical music as a key element in the cultural and social development of our community.

For second year this law firm sponsors the II Encuentro Expo Portuaria 2009 organized by the Puerto Cabello Chamber of Commerce on 18th to 20th March 2009, event which gathered an important number of companies and experts of the maritime community. Through out the different sections the participants had the opportunity to listen about topics of interest such as international trends in the shipping and port fields, port congestion, logistic and specially decentralization and recentralization of ports in the context of the recent amendments to the domestic legislation.

The days 10th and 11th December 2008, the “Dia de los Inocentes” opera with text of Aquiles Nazoa, musical work by the Venezuelan composer Cesar Guillen R. went on stage. With a group integrated by Ana Iris Blanco, César Guillén, Raúl Espinoza, Edda Díaz, Rosario Guillén, Eleazar Suárez, and the participation of Coro de Ópera de Puerto Cabello, Coral Casa Italia de Maracay, the Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil de Puerto Cabello, and Iraima Rodriguez and Prof. Victor Mata as Scene Director and Musical Director, respectively. Sabatino Pizzolante has sponsored this important cultural event, as a contribution for the musical development of the youth of Puerto Cabello.

Sabatino Pizzolante co-sponsor the participation of a group of law young students of the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB), who attended to the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2007, organized totally in English, with the assistance of 500 universities of more than 50 countries, regarded as the most prestigious and demanding event in its category worldwide. After remaining among the 12 unbeaten teams in the preliminary rounds, the Venezuelan team representing the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello achieved for ninth consecutive year the classification to the advanced rounds of this competition, leaving well positioned the name of the country.

Sabatino Pizzolante Abogados Marítimos & Comerciales co-sponsored with the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Cabello the program “Los Niños Pintan su Ciudad”, which includes the elaboration of a set of twelve murals throughout the geography of Puerto Cabello. Each one of the referred murals are co-sponsored by that institution and an associated company, with the support of a local artist, among them, Jesús Pereira, Felipe Yasonna, Víctor Pachano, Evelio Guzmán, Elizabeth Conde, Rober Román, Fernando Henríquez, Alberto Vargas, Oscar Peña, Giovanny Zambrano, Walter Rocha and Melquíades Cariel. The students of the different elementary schools located in the different parishes of the municipality, such as “Doroteo Centeno”, “Juana García Ladera”, “José Alí Lebrún” y “Guillermo Smith”, have the opportunity to participate in four workshops in which the artist makes them to take interest by the painting, having like final project the elaboration of the mural, corresponding to the co-sponsors to cover the costs of the materials, fees of the artist and meals for the children.

This law firm contributes with the Civil Association Mozart 250 and the Opera of Puerto Cabello, sponsoring “Las Bodas de Fígaro”, important work of Wolfgang A. Mozart taken to scene in the Municipal Theater of Puerto Cabello on 14th and 15th September 2006. The musical performance was in charge of the Orquesta Juvenil de Puerto Cabello, the Valencia grouping Valencia en Ensamble and the Choir of Opera of Puerto Cabello, all of them under the musical direction of Prof. Victor Mata, corresponding the direction of scene to Prof. Jose Rafael Pereda. This important activity takes placein the commemorative local acts of the 250 years of the birth of this musical genius, and served to enjoy the musical improvements of local young musicians, among them, Lidgian Mata, Nylbelis Peraza and Raul Espinoza.

This law firm carried out the refurbishing of the library belonging to the Elementary School “Rafael Andrade Mendoza”, located in the community of Bartolome Salom de Puerto Cabello, which was re-opened like Center of Resources for the Learning “Jose Alfredo Sabatino Fougnier”. The construction and equipping of this center was possible thanks to the donation made, opportunity in which the Director and teachers of the school also wanted to pay tribute to Sabatino Fougnier, who still alive was a member of the Lions Club, institution that sponsored the construction of this educative center in 1965.

Sabatino Pizzolante Abogados Maritimos y Comerciales, through the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Cabello, makes an important economic contribution for the acquisition of kitchens and mattresses to be donated to 60 families of the village of Goaigoaza, and other 15 of the Colonial Zone of Puerto Cabello, who were affected by the heavy rains of August 2006.

Our sister company as an associated company to the centennial Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Cabello, makes an important monetary contribution, together with other local companies, with the aim to install air conditioners and other improvements to the Reception Hall of the building of this institution, located in Urb. Cumboto Norte In this way the hall in reference, now subject to refurbishment, is ready to serve in better manner the cultural and social activities, to the benefit of both the associates and the local public in general.
