Loading and unloading operations of oil cargo ships resumed smoothly on Wednesday at the docks of the state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) Cardón's refinery after the activities were halted on Saturday due to a fire that broke out at the oil facility, a Pdvsa source told Reuters. On Saturday, a fire burned down one of the five docks at Cardón refinery, the second Venezuela's largest refinery with a capacity to process 310,000 barrels per day (bpd), while a cargo ship flying a Bahamas flag was receiving a load of oil products. The blaze began in one of the piers just days after two similar incidents affected shipping terminals of the state-run oil company in Bonaire and Curacao. One of the oil storage terminals has not resumed operations. "The docks restarted operations on Wednesday," said a manager of the state-run oil company.
